Terry Bradshaw Misses Fox NFL Sunday After Death of Son-in-Law

terry-bradshaw-fox-nfl-sundayTerry Bradshaw sat out of the Fox NFL Sunday coverage after his son-in-law, former Titans kickerRob Bironas, died in a car accident on Saturday night at the age of 36.
“Terry will not appear on today’s edition of FOX NFL SUNDAY,” Fox said in a statement. “He flew to Nashville early this morning to be with his daughter Rachel during this tremendously difficult time. The entire FOX Sports family has Terry, Rachel, the Bironas and Bradshaw families in our thoughts and prayers.”
Bironas married Bradshaw’s daughter, Rachel Bradshaw, in June. In March, he was released from the Tennessee Titans, where he spent nine seasons as a kicker.
According to a statement on the Metro Nashville Police Department website, Bironas was driving his SUV at a high speed when he lost control on a curve at about 11 p.m. Saturday night, approximately a mile away from his Nashville home.
He was transferred to and pronounced dead at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The statement adds that there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs used at the scene.
Broadcasters on Fox and CBS acknowledged the tragedy during coverage and offered condolences to the Bradshaw and Bironas families, with Fox Sports’ Howie Long calling it a “heartbreaking day.”
